Weekend Staycation at Maxx Hotel (Makati)

Saturday, February 16, 2019

Searching for the best lifestyle and business hotel in Makati? Try Maxx Hotel in Poblacion. Last month, my friend and I went for a little staycation trip in Makati. We were both working in Quezon City so we had to pass thru EDSA, which is notorious for their horrendous traffic situation any time of the day. It was almost 2 hours from the office until we reached Maxx Hotel. When we arrived at the entrance of the hotel, the friendly security guard came straight to the car. He opened the door for us like he was already expecting our arrival.

The front desk and lobby was stylish and spacious, which made us feel welcomed but it somehow kept us away from the chaotic world zipping around the streets of Makati. Check-in procedure were finished in 5 minutes. A friendly staff led us to our room and gave us a little room tour. When we finally had the room to ourselves, I started to relax and I had a feeling that it will be a very relaxing staycation in the city that never sleeps.

Urban View Room - Our Home Away from Home

The 32-square meter Urban View Room of Maxx Hotel, our home away from home, is attractively spunky, with accents of white wood, unfinished but even concrete walls and faux wood floors. Combining white wooden furnishings and wide windows that provide a lot of natural light, the designers achieve certain minimalist-industrial but welcoming vibe. An accent chair by the window offers a place to relax, while the double beds with high-quality foam mattresses, which can be occupied by two people each, make getting up in the morning really difficult.
Our room with two double beds :)

One of the factors that I consider before I can say that it was a great hotel staycation was the quality of the pillow. I have to mention that the pillows at Maxx Hotel were one of the best I have ever slept on. The pillows stayed cool all night, and my head was both comforted and supported by its structure. I usually pillow-flip through the night and didn't feel I had to with the ones they have at all.

Overall Experience
My friend and I had a very nice stay at Maxx Hotel Makati. I was a little worried about the noise before we went there but thankfully, we did not hear the city noise all throughout the night. Because of its great location, we were able to do a little food trip as well. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking to explore Poblacion!
