Walking Tour of Quiapo with i-Discover App&Map

Tuesday, October 30, 2018

This might not be the most popular opinion about Quiapo, but I think this chaotic and gritty district of Manila is a photographer’s paradise. Not because of the photography stores and services you will find in Hidalgo Street, but because everything you see on your camera’s viewfinder tells a story. Yes it is dirty and overcrowded, but Quiapo is a bustling district with so many fascinating things that you won't find elsewhere.
San Sebastian Basilica - the only all-steel church in Asia
Through the i-Discover App&Map, I was able to visit several hidden gems in Quiapo I otherwise would have never known. Here's some of the photos I took during our guided tour:
The Gothic Revival interior of San Sebastian Basilica
Our paper guide of Quiapo and the famous Turon of Nanay Nely
The Masjid in Quaipo (Masjid Al-Dahab) and our brief introduction with the Muslim community in Manila
Nice to finally meet you Aleah of Solitary Wanderer and Ferdz of Ironwulf!
Photo taken at the Bahay Nakpil-Bautista
Back in San Sebastian Church for the sunset and the evening mass
