My Goals For The Rest of 2014

Goals for the rest of the year
2014 for me is all about transition. After almost four years of being nocturnal, I finally decided to shift to a day job. It was difficult financially, but I am happier. It is less stressful and I get to do other things aside from work. Since the year is more than half over, I decided to make a list of my goals and I thought I’d share them with you.

1. Update blog regularly
I think I'm doing a great job with updating my blog regularly. I mean, from posting once every two months or so, I am now updating twice or more every month. Committing to a blog will require a lot of effort but it really is worth it because I love reading myself. Serious case of narcissism I know! :)

2. Build my Japan travel fund
Japan is my second favorite country, next to the Philippines. I've been dreaming to see this country since forever!  Next year, April 2015, my friends and I will finally visit the land of Hello Kitty! Banzai!

3. Maintain a minimalist lifestyle
I want to continue this lifestyle free of clutter and stress. I am proud to say that I live on the barest of essentials. I only got my bed, clothing storage and a table in my room. Because of this kind of living, I can spend money on other things like paying monthly bills for my VUL.

4. Build a work space at home
I need this like ASAP. I'm still looking for a folding study table and a chair that can fit into my small room. Anyone wants to sell their stuff? :)

5. Resume weekend running activities
Adults need at least 2 hours and 30 minutes of moderate aerobic activity (eg. brisk walking) every week. But these past few months, I was too lazy to go out for a walk or run. I better get back on running again before I develop cellulite in my legs! Game plan: Spread out the activity into smaller chunks of time, until I reach 2 hours and 30 minutes per week.

6. Prepare for LOMA certification
Working in the insurance industry requires continuous education. If you are not familiar with LOMA, it is a certification exam that insurance people need to take to step up towards our professional designation. It can help us gain confidence, serve the customer effectively, and contribute to company success.

7. Coron Trip with mom
This is my first ever out of town trip with mom so I am going to make sure this will be epic! I still need to save up for that GoPro Hero 3+ so I can capture the stunning underwater world of Coron. I.AM.SO.EXCITED.

8. Maintain good stats at work
I remember my ex-boss told me, I am performing well at work but I had too many distractions. He was referring to my non-stop travel lifestyle. I guess when I started traveling, I lost that drive to be on top or to be promoted. But now I am starting to get back on track. No plans of quitting work and travel the world.

So, that’s what I’ve got planned for the rest of 2014. I’d love to know what’s on your list!

You will love Japan, i swear! It's not my dream country, but I enjoyed my short stay there. Hoping to post everything before August ends. I'm planning to go back on April 2015 too! :D
